Hey Friends!
I hope the person reading this has an absolutely wonderful day!
So! She went West!
With every mile closer to Alberta, I felt better and better… and better. Until I got here and I wake up in tears of gratitude. Nothing has felt better than being here, but it was quite a journey! The drive across Canada itself was absolutely wonderful! But my plans for when I arrived fell through, which left me couch surfing and sleeping in my car for a couple weeks before I found somewhere to stay.
After a scary couple of weeks, shrouded by uncertainty, within a matter of a couple days I had found full time work, booked some shows and had a place to stay. I thought that was the end of my troubles.
After a couple weeks of trying to work as much as I could, still playing catch up, my cousin who is like a brother to me passed away. It has rocked me and our family, but on the show must go.
I've been giving myself some time to catch my breath and a little break from the music. I have needed this time to not have pressure on myself or the music. I have really enjoyed and needed it.
I still have a ways to go to be fully and firmly on my feet, but I am definitely on my way. Words can't really describe how much better I feel to be here. And the music is kind of happening on its own, which is a blessing. I'm going to continue to lay low, with just a few shows here and there until the new year.
Hope the holiday season treats everyone good! Love y'all!
