Wellness

As a personal trainer, nutrition counsellor, yoga instructor and health enthusiast, I have spent the majority of my life trying to understand people, in every aspect. Me in particular, but I have always had a fascination with anything to do with the body, mind and spirit. I have studied psychology and human body biology at Saint Mary's and Mount Allison University. I have obtained many certifications in the field of health and wellness, but beyond my structured education, I have always had a passion for the subject, that found me doing a lot of my own research.   

 Being able to compile my knowledge and deliver it to others in a way that makes applicable sense, seems to be my offering. I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge that I want to share with others, through trying to overcome my own ailments... mind, body and spirit. I believe that our foods, environments and mental states are what are creating the majority of illness, If that is true or even partly true, then we need to use the same door to get out. Not prescriptions to mask the symptoms, when our bodies are trying to speak to us.  

I have developed a program that I now use and have given to others to try, that combats the effects of what our bodies deal with on a daily bases. From the minerals in our water, the lack thereof in our soil, the overstimulation and negative narratives and issues in the world, the struggle to survive, the overwhelming addiction epidemic, to the chemicals and components in our food that we need to avoid. This program seeks to tackle much of this, and restore the body to a better balance in every way. There is no one program that works for everyone. It is a compilation of things to consider and incorporate, when trying to attain better health, energy and quality of life.  

I firmly believe that we only get one chance to be this person. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, you are only you once. According to professionals, the odds of you becoming you were pretty low to begin with. I am grateful every day that I get to wake up and experience all the beauty and good that this world has to offer. I have sight, hearing, mobility and no major problems. I have endured and overcome enough dark times in my life to understand what a gift it is to be here. My body is the vehicle I was blessed with, in order to live this life. I try to treat it as such. 

 

Yoga

If you listen to most modern day wisdom teachers, they mostly all agree on the power and benefits of yoga. Through learning the practice, you learn to be in the driver's seat of your physical and emotional well-being. 

Yoga is moving meditation. It brings you out of the future, past, and chaos of the mind, and into the here and now. Through learning to focus on the breath, you learn to endure discomfort, in order to better yourself and show yourself love. Honouring your body and all that it does for you, while calming the mind and cultivate a sense of happiness and gratitude.
